Yes, there is a certain performance impact. However, I find benefits of being able to trace requests in logs much more valuable than the disadvantage of performance impact.

BTW, I did some basic performance testing too and in my scenario I got about 10–15% RPS (request per second) degradation with request ids and CLS turned on. Seems serious, but not so critical.
